I came across this meme on C.B. Wentworth’s blog. I thought it would be interesting to see what I end up having to post, so here we go!
These are the rules of the meme:
- Go to page 77 of your current MS (manuscript)
- Go to line 7
- Copy down the next 7 lines as they’re written– no cheating!
- Tag 7 other writers
- Let them know!
Though the rules state to tag 7 other writers, I’m just going to leave it open for people to steal if they so choose. 🙂
So here’s my excerpt, from my zombie novel, as per the rules:
She was a teenager in a very pretty skirt and blouse. A large chunk of her hair was missing and part of her collar bone had been broken and torn off in a very gruesome manner.
When she saw Nancy standing there, her vacant eyes went huge and she lunged forward.
Nancy shrieked and dove to the side, jamming her leg against a sink in the process. She stumbled to the floor and began rapidly crawling toward the door. She was just reaching for the door handle to pull herself up when a searing pain flew through her leg. The pain was so immense that she couldn’t even scream.
Not my best writing (this is a scene that needs some major editing), but I’m amused that the Lucky 7 rules brought me to a group of lines that actually stand alone pretty well. lol
