Although I’ve already written and scheduled a post for the day before this challenge starts, I wanted to take part in the big theme reveal blog-hop that is going on as we speak. For those who are reading this and have no idea what I’m talking about, there will be a more detailed post on March 31st.
Suffice it to say, for the purpose of this post, that the A to Z Challenge is a blog challenge to write 26 posts during the month of April, each one based on a letter of the alphabet. You don’t have to have a theme, but lots of people find it helps them to stay focused and come up with ideas for each of the 26 posts. I decided that a theme was just the thing for me, and so here we are, revealing it!
So without further ado, my A to Z Challenge theme will be…(*drum roll*)…Characters! Fictional characters, to be specific. Some of my favorite fictional characters, to be even more specific. 🙂
Throughout the month of April I will be talking about 26 of my favorite fictional characters, each of their names starting with the letters of the alphabet in turn. Sound like fun? I certainly hope so! I’m hoping that lots of A to Z participants will stop by to hear about all of my favorite characters and hopefully find some new books/TV shows/video games/movies to check out as a result. So wander back over here on April 1st and have a visit! You may just find a new favorite character of your own! 🙂

Oh! I actually thought about choosing this as my theme, but went with another instead. I can’t wait to see what characters you’ve chosen.
I was wondering if anyone else had come up with a similar theme. lol I’ve been poking around to see if anyone picked something similar, but nothing yet. ^_~

Great theme idea! I had originally thought I might introduce my fictional characters A-Z, but went with something completely different in the end.

Believe it or not, I had X figured out almost immediately. Q took a lot more thought though. lol The absolute worst was U!
Hehe. I would have an X right away, too. I love “Story of the Stone” and my favorite character is called Xiang! U would be hard, now that I think about it… O.o

It really, really was! I even went to Twitter, asking people for help coming up with some characters! In the end I wound up cheating a little, but it still technically counts…lol
This sounds like an interesting theme! I’ve enjoyed reading lots of books and have favorite characters from them, but not sure I could pull it all together for an A/Z Challenge. Good luck with it!

Well I’m not just using book characters, so that gives me a bit of an edge, but it was definitely still very difficult coming up with one for every letter! 🙂

I’m trying to come up with a way to use this challenge for non-fiction writing pursuits. Wish me luck!

Ah, characters, the lifeblood of a story. There’s nothing I love better than getting lost in a character’s head. I can’t wait to see which ones you choose to write about. Good luck on the challenge!
