I want all of the Nendoroids. Seriously, they are just so adorable and so much fun to play with and get into the pose you want for your display. Unfortunately they aren’t the most affordable collectible, but I recently picked up this sweet little Majora’s Mask Link on sale at our local EB Games and I was super excited to show him off!
For the A-to-Z Challenge 2017 I’m writing all about myself. Every post will be some random fact or bit of information about me that you may or may not have already known. Maybe you’ll learn something! Feel free to let me know! ^_^
No one who comes to this blog even a little bit casually could have possibly missed this fact, but for those of you who might be stumbling in because of the blogging challenge: I’m a YouTuber!
I began my YouTube channel in the summer of 2014, and it began as a pure unboxing channel. Before then I hadn’t even known unboxings were a thing – in fact, I hadn’t even known subscription boxes were a thing – but after watching a few other people doing I thought, “I could do that!” I placed orders for a couple of nerdy subscription services and a couple of girly ones as well, and started unboxing. Those first videos were…not great. But I got better, bit by bit, and talking to the camera slowly began to help me calm my anxiety flare-ups as well.
Eventually my husband, Jason, began helping out on the channel by putting together a “studio” for me, creating an opening for the videos, making nicer thumbnails, working on branding, and other such things, and it really began to blossom from there. Jason started joining me in videos, we started focusing more on quality, and the channel became what it is today: “Tracey’s Basement” featuring Tracey and Jason (and sometimes the little one as well). It took me about a year and a half to get my first thousand subscribers, but once Jason took over quality control and we got into a groove, that number tripled in less than the following year.
These days Jason and I still do unboxing videos, but we also do toy hauls and mail calls (whenever awesome, awesome people send us things), and whatever random geekiness comes across our desks, such as the My Life in Movies TAG we were tagged in not too long ago. So basically, what I’m getting at, is that if you’re a geek, or if you just love collectibles and/or subscription boxes, come check us out over at “Tracey’s Basement“!
Yeah, okay, my birthday was well over a week ago. Sue me. 🙂
In this video I’m showing off the goodies that Jason and Adrianna picked up for me for my 33rd, and they’re all AWESOME, so you should totally check it out. ^_^
BAM! box has been wavering in past months, in our opinions, but the “Indestructible” box wasn’t too shabby, featuring Marvel characters, Vampirella, and the Bionic Woman. That artwork though…just…wow.
Wait, didn’t we JUST do a ZBox unboxing? Yup! For some reason the February and March boxes came within just a few days of one another. Oh well! I don’t mind at all, because at least one item in this box is AWESOME!
I used to do a lot of apologizing about late subscription box openings, but I refuse to apologize for this one! (Although it is going up on the blog even later than…you know what? Just shush.) We were quite certain upon opening that this was February’s Geek Fuel, but it turned out to just be an extraordinarily late January box. Fancy that. But did we enjoy it regardless? Watch the video to find out!
We may enjoy an alien or two in this household. XD In this video Jason and I showed off a variety of different Alien figures across several different toy/collectible companies. 😀
So a little while back BAM! Box announced they were having a “Fire Sale Box”, which would include random items from previous boxes. Since Jason and I have been thoroughly enjoying BAM!, and since even doubles of some of the stuff we’ve already gotten from them would be excellent stuff to have, we thought we’d give it a try! It showed up just prior to Christmas, and if you’re interested in which items were sent to us, give the video a view. ^_^
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying receiving The Collectors Case for these past few months, and the most recent box definitely did not disappoint. This over-sized box even included the first random-winner autograph that we’ve gotten from them, and it’s a pretty awesome one! Check it out!
Despite popular belief, Jason and do not, in fact, only collect Funko stuff! It’s definitely been an obsession for a while, but we collect all kinds of other stuff as well, so we were super-happy to get a chance to share some of those items in this awesome YouTube tag! Check it out!
