Yes, it’s that time again! In just a little over a week it will once again be time for the “A to Z Blogging Challenge“. When I found this challenge last year I was over the moon, because not only did it give me an easy way to come up with things to blog about for a full month, but it turned out to be an excellent way to gain new followers, find new blogs to follow myself, and meet new online friends. If you’ve never heard of the challenge, you should definitely think about checking out the website and maybe even signing up as a last-minute participant! There is still time, and it’s a ton of fun, I promise!
I had a ton of fun last year with my “Fictional Characters” theme, so of course I started thinking about 2015’s theme months in advance, but for a long time I had absolutely no ideas. For a little while there I was actually considering just doing the same theme again, since I was confident that I could come up with another 26 fictional characters to talk about, but I really didn’t want to do a repeat, so I kept thinking. Eventually I thought of an idea that I believe will be fun and entertaining. So here it is, my “A to Z Blogging Challenge” theme reveal for 2015…
Video Games!
Now mind you that this theme is going to be a little broad. For one thing, I might talk about video games that are so old there are teenagers alive today that have never heard of them, or I might talk about games that haven’t even been released yet. For another thing, I might not talk about a game specifically, but a video game character that I feel to be an important part of pop culture, or even a video game world that I love, or a console that was a big part of my childhood. The sky is the limit! (So long as the sky involves one use each of each of the letters of the alphabet.)
What do you think of the theme? Are you going to come back and check out my posts? What about the challenge…are you taking part yourself, and are you basing your posts on a theme? Please share! I’d love to hear from you!
Also, a reminder that I am running a contest throughout the month of March. For each comment you post on my blog throughout the month, you will receive one entry toward a draw for a hard-copy of my zombie apocalypse novel, “Nowhere to Hide”! Please note that in order to accept the prize, I will need you to give me a mailing address where I can have the book sent. If the winner drawn did not intend to enter the contest and/or does not want the book, I will draw another name. Please also note that obvious spam/duplicate comments/etc. will not be counted toward an entry…play fair! And good luck! ❤
Cool theme! Looking forward to finding out about some cool games! Shawn from Laughing at Life 2
I am all for this! I am an avid tabletop gamer and have not tried a lot of video games (didn’t have the hardware for it), but the ones I tried I really loved. Also, I am in Pop Culture studies, so I am kind of obligated to find out more. 🙂
Cheers!

Ooh, Pop Culture studies…I’ll do my best to give you some good information! 😀
Cool theme indeed. I know nowthing about video games since I am blind. Looking forward to learning!
I hope you’re able to find a thing or two that’s interesting to you!
Sounds good. I’m always interested in learning about a video game I haven’t tried.
I’m betting that a lot of the ones I mention will be fairly well known, but there will probably be a handful you haven’t heard of. ^_^
Video games is a fun theme!
Yvonne
Thanks! I hope it entertains! 😀
Haha, I’m totally looking forward to some of your “games so old teenagers won’t have even heard of them”! Great theme!
Hahaha…planning out these posts has made me feel super old, and I haven’t even used THAT many old ones! lol
Ooh, great topic. I was just playing a video game for the depths of time 😉 – Wolfenstein – the original, or rather the original engine with fan made new levels. I find it very relaxing to blow away fake Nazis during my lunch :).

Oh man, my husband would probably love you. lol Wolfenstein is definitely a classic, although it wasn’t a big one from my childhood…I was more into the RPGs. ^_^
I think you have a cool theme! I was at the a local doctor’s house the day he hooked Atari up at his house. Me and my best friend played pong. We thought it so very cool! LOL Now it would see so slow and tiring! LOL Very techno of you!

Too awesome! In fact, my first post of the month is going to be Atari. lol I loved that system so much, I’m so sad that I don’t have it anymore. ;_;
I think this sounds like a fun theme, and it would definitely be fun to write. Good luck with the A to Z Challenge this year!
It’s been tons of fun to write! I’ve been trying to get them all scheduled in advance so I can enjoy other people’s posts throughout the month. XD
So very smart…wish I was that prepared!
Know nothing about video games, definitely an educational theme! Will be back to learn from your posts.
Best wishes,
Nilanjana.
Thanks for dropping in! I hope you enjoy the posts! ^_^
Hi. I am making the rounds , trying to meet some of the bloggers from the A to Z challenge. Cool theme. I still play video games and I am in my late 40’s. Of course, Ms. Pacman will always be my favorite … no matter how many high tech consoles and games they make. That really just showed my age, didn’t it. I play a lot of the newer games on Xbox , but I try and really limit my time and “pretend,” I am just doing it to entertain my son. I will be back to read more. I also wanted to tell you that I really like your blog design. I am so tempted to change to WordPress, but too afraid. It seems so complicated. I like how clean, crisp and colorful your design is. It is also very easy to navigate, from this end.
I am having a little mystery game for my crime fiction theme. There will be weekly prizes for solving daily clues and a grand prize at the end of April for solving the big crime. I hope you will stop by.

Thanks for dropping in! I’m definitely going to be checking out your mystery game…it sounds awesome!!! I’ll be on shift on the oil sands during the first two weeks of the month, so your game should help to break up the monotony. ^_^
For the record, WordPress really isn’t very complicated. 🙂 My biggest problem is that not very many themes are free, and of the themes that are free most don’t allow you to customize. I like this theme, but there are things about it that drive me crazy and I can’t change them because that’s the way the theme is. >.<
Found you through use of the hashtag #geekpastiche! I’m excited now to catch up on your challenge 🙂
We did fictional characters last year for A to Z as well! https://comparativegeeks.wordpress.com/2014/04/ We also decided to do something different for this year 🙂
